Dogwood Days of Praise
On
Monday, December 3rd
we will kick off our annual
Dogwood Days of Praise
, which recognizes our amazing Dogwood teachers, admin and staff. This is a great way to encourage your favorite Dogwood teachers. We would love to recognize everyone in the building!
This year we will open each day with a Facebook and Bloomz post for a different group of teachers and staff and cover everyone over 12 days.
If you would like to share something praiseworthy about a Dogwood teacher, admin or staff member, simply post your praise as a comment on the appropriate day. Thanks for helping us recognize our fabulous teachers and staff this holiday season!

All State Treble Honor Choir
The following Dogwood students have been selected for the All State Treble Choir this year. These students sent in an audition recording along with other 5th and 6th grade students across the state and were selected from hundreds of other students. They will learn a challenging repertoire of music and perform at the All Tennessee State Music Festival at the Opryland Hotel in April.Congratulations to these talented singers!

The 5th grade yearbook ads are available for purchase at MySchoolBucks. Once you purchase your ad, you will be contacted about the ad design and content. The 1/4 page ad is $25 and due by December 22nd.
Business ads can also be purchased on MySchoolBucks. These ads can contain a business card-size picture. They are $25 each and due by December 22nd.

Dolphins Choose to be NICE
Ethan Richmond, Benton Entriken, Oliver Aronson, Jackson Christopher, Genevieve Remsen, Martin Aguilar (back row),Eli Harrison, Harper Brown, Skylar Rose, and Mary Durhan (front row) received a Dolphin Dollar this week and signed the Choose to be Nice board on Friday. Way to go!
The criteria for selecting students is based on having demonstrated the following characteristics:

Please help the counseling department reinforce the importance of being NICE and how it shapes character and promotes becoming a world changer.

School Policy Reminders
Parents we need your help with the safety and security of all students. Here's how you can help:
GMSD policy is to have your ID prepared at all times when checking out your children. It is for the safety of the students and efficiency at the front desk.
In addition, the new GMSD procedure is to have
all
Visitors present ID and check in and out with the main desk. This procedure is in effect immediately.

Katie Laird, Carrie Mayrhofer, Yemi Emereuwaouna, Chelsea Slabaugh. and the Teacher Treats Committee for serving our teachers and staff a fantastic baked potato bar. Katie tracked down every extra baked potato in Germantown to make sure everyone in the building had a delicious lunch.

Mrs. Mindy Toll who greets everyone at the Dogwood with a smile. She makes us all feel so welcome. Mrs. Toll has patiently and graciously explained the new security procedures to our parents and guests over the past few weeks. More importantly, she loves our children and wants to help provide a safe and secure learning environment for each of them.

There are some important upcoming dates on the Dogwood calendar. These are a bit different than previous years. Please read carefully as we want everyone to be informed.
HALF DAYS with 12:15 pm dismissal on Tuesday, December 18th AND Wednesday, December 19th. There will be two consecutive half days at the end of the 2nd quarter.
Springfest has been renamed
DolphinFest! Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 2nd.
