STITCH OF THE MONTH
|
|
This "no name" stitch is worked on the diagonal over three rows. Each row will be a diagonal line (not vertical or horizontal). After one row is completed, the next is worked the same way but with the end of the stitch going down between the two stitches of the row next to it. It sounds confusing but is truly a quick and easy background stitch that gives an unusual lacy effect.

Try keeping
a STITCH JOURNAL
Keep track of the stitches and threads you use on your projects. Make notes on whether you liked the stitch and/or fiber used and whether you liked it for the area you stitched it. This page was taken from the back of the
Stitches To Go
book many people use for stitch reference but you can create a similar notebook yourself with categories customized to your needs. The customer who told me about her stitch journal also mentioned she takes pictures of her works and adds these to her note pages. Brilliant.

, pick out an in stock canvas you'd like, write down your name, phone number and wish on a piece paper, wrap it around a candy cane
