Weekly News and Updates for the Week of January 6, 2020
WELCOME BACK! We hope you had a happy, healthy and rejuvenating winter break, and look forward to starting off 2020 with you!
Warrior of the Month (December)
Each month a student will be recognized as Warrior of the Month. These students are nominated by their teachers and exemplify what it means to go above-and-beyond our expectations - reflecting their drive to achieve personal and academic growth.

Gabby D.
Gabby is a wonderful student as she always comes prepared to class, works diligently to understand concepts, prepares for content assessments with integrity, helps other students learn, and participates positively in the classroom. She goes above and beyond with everything she does, and is one of the most caring and compassionate students we have. What a great example of human spirit at this time of year.

Also nominated: Alexa P.

Most of my time outside of school is spent with my family. We like to read books, visit museums and the zoo, and plan trips. My kids take up most of my time outside of school, but when I get a free moment I enjoy reading (books without pictures), kickboxing, and watching shows like Monty Python, Dr. Who, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

6. Favorite song/artist?  My favorite band is a group out of Portland called The Decemberists

I did pretty much everything from writing advertising to publishing magazines, to serving as the college photographer. Before that, I was a college admissions counselor, also at Notre Dame, recruiting in northwest Ohio and southeastern Michigan.  For a while, I had to work two and three jobs at a time, so I can say I've worked in construction, as a landscaper, and drove everything from a Zamboni to a school bus.

7. Favorite food?  Coffee.

8. What makes you passionate about your work?  This is a job that matters--everything we do, everything we say, every minute we are around our students is a chance to make an impact on their lives.
