The News

dec18holidaydec18holiday URGENT!  Reservations for the Holiday Brunch!

Even though the formal deadline for reservations for the Christmas Gathering has just passed, our coordinator, Cathy Keil, has a tiny bit of wiggle room.  The brunch will be at the Sierra Banquet Center in Camino just off Hwy 50 in Apple Hill.  The date is Sunday, December 9.  If you haven't reserved yet, but would like to, call Cathy Keil at 672-4222 ASAP!.  For more information as well as the reservation form, visit our website  https://www.placervillearts.com/.  The cost is $25 per person.

dec18smallworksSmall Works Show Coming Soon!

We will have our first ever Small Works Show the week of December 10 through 14 at the Government Center in Placerville.  Diana Coco-Russel will be our judge.  The show will have three categories - series of 9, series of 3, and individual work.  Awards will include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each of the categories as well as Best in Show and People's Choice.

Each artist may enter up to a total of 4 items.  (Each series of 9 or series of 3 counts as an individual item.)  Entry fees are $15 for a series of 9, $10 for a series of 3, and $8 for individual pieces.  Although it is now too late to reserve a space for a series of 9 or series of 3, you can enter individual works simply by bringing them, along with your completed entry form and fee to intake.

Our schedule will be a bit different than with our other member shows - due to Diana's schedule  she will not be able to judge the show until Thursday morning.  However, we will do the intake and hanging Monday morning as usual, and the reception Friday at 4pm, again as usual.

I think this is an exciting opportunity for PAA and I'm really looking forward to it.  For more information, as well as the entry form, visit PAA's website  here.

Have fun with this one!

From the Editor
editornoteMany thanks to Sue Wickersham for volunteering to take on the newsletter duties beginning in January.  I've been your editor for six years now and have enjoyed getting the news out to all of you wonderful members.  However, it is time to give someone else a chance!!!

Sue will be a new member in 2019, though many of you will be aware of her artwork - she won an award in this year's Mother Lode Show with her mixed media work with hands.  I truly appreciate Sue and look forward to working with her in the hand-over.

I'm looking forward to all the exciting PAA events in the new year!
