ONU Monthly Newsletter
Greetings!
Happy Holidays! The year is coming close to an end and as always, we have so much to be grateful for! One key area of thanks is the opportunity to get connected with amazing supporters like you! That's why we are committed to keeping you updated with the latest news on ONU. In this issue of the ONU Newsletter, we are profiling our final Cohort, Cohort 28, sponsored by The Boeing Company; highlighting a Veteran Committed Company and spotlighting an ONU Alumnus and a Proud Supporter and announcing our newest ONU Board Member and our final event of 2018.

We hope this newsletter will help keep you updated on important ONU's news and upcoming events. Enjoy and as always thank you for your support of Operation New Uniform and the veterans we serve!
Cohort 28 Sponsored by The Boeing Company
Cohort 28 is made up of 6 hardworking veterans searching for fulfilling careers. The Boeing Company gave these six veterans the opportunity to come through our programs at no cost to them. The Boeing Company is proudly listed as an ONU Platinum Level Veteran Committed Company. They are committed to ensuring our veterans have the tools and resources they need to find the careers they desire. These six Veterans will have their final lesson on December 7 at the JAX Chamber of Commerce. If you are interested in hiring an ONU Veteran or supporting these graduates, please plan to attend. Registration is free, but all guests must be registered to attend. To register, click here.
Welcome ONU's Newest Board Member
Operation New Uniform is excited to welcome Ryan Hollister to our Board of Directors as we look to forward to the future and our goal of expanding ONU to other cities.
Ryan Hollister, a Navy Veteran, is Director of Project Development at The Haskell Company, a global architecture, engineering, and construction firm headquartered in Jacksonville, FL. Ryan serves as co-chair of Illinois State University’s Construction Management Advisory Board. During his career with Haskell, Ryan has been instrumental in their efforts to hire veterans and has been an avid supporter of ONU earning both ONU’s Above and Beyond Award in 2015 and the Distinguished Supporter Award in 2017 on behalf of The Haskell Company. Please join us in welcoming Ryan to the ONU Team!
Veteran Committed Company
Operation New Uniform is pleased to recognize IBM, an ONU Veteran Committed Company. IBM routinely displays its dedication to every client's success throughout the years of their support. This Fortune 500 Company has created their own Veteran Employment Initivatve by working with veteran organizations, like Operation New Uniform, to help veterans prepare for careers in the expanding field of advanced data analytics. IBM uses their expertise and resources to provide veterans with software training, certification and even job placement. ONU is honored to work with organizations, like IBM, that share our commitment to the veteran community.
ONU Alumnus Gives Back
On November 17th, Operation New Uniform held our 5th Annual Heroes Dinner and Show at the World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort. This event was our largest event yet! We had supporters, donors, employers, alumni, and even current ONU students on hand to celebrate the achievements and successes of a truly amazing year! We would like to highlight one special Alumnus who was kind enough to donate their time and services to the organization by serving as our DJ for the night. Ed Santiago, a Cohort 9 Alumnus, (pictured above with his family and ONU Executive Director, Michele McManamon) has found his passion of bringing music and entertainment to others as a DJ and now with a fulfilling career and side business, in addition to being a full-time parent, Ed still finds time to dedicate his talents to ONU. Now in our 5 th year since our founding in service to veterans, we continue to be amazed by the support we receive from our Alumni. As we continue to grow with the help of our supporters we hope to serve more veterans, like Ed. If you are interested in booking Ed at your next event, click here.
Proud Supporter Spotlight
Operation New Uniform is honored to have supporters, like Chris Pillay, who humbled everyone present through a show of generosity and service to all our guests who served our country during our recent Heroes Dinner and Show. Chris is the winner of the Live Auction Caymus Magnum Bottle of Wine. At the end of the show, Chris served every veteran in the room a sampling of his $3,000 bottle of wine. Both ONU and our veterans were moved by Chris' generosity.
