Dear Residents and Families,

I wanted to reach out, personally, and say thank you for all of the support during this challenging time. The amount of appreciation you have shown to myself and the staff here at The Madison has been great!

Additionally, I wanted to pass along some of the things we are doing in the building since there are no guests in and no residents out.

  • Store Runs: We have been running to the store for residents as needs arise. Today we put our heads together to try and ensure we are getting residents what they need while limiting visits to the store. We are asking that residents give their shopping list to the front desk by 12:30pm and we will get their items the following day. We can take cash with us or add it to the next months invoice.
  • Family provided supplies: We have set up two benches right outside the front door. If you need to deliver supplies, please leave them on the bench. You can either call the building (206.842.3694) or use the door bell to the left of the doors to let us know the supplies are there.
  • We are offering FaceTime via my cell phone if you would like to video chat your loved ones! I know this time is so hard to not be able to see them so we are making every effort to keep them safe and come up with ways for you to be able to put your eyes on them. Please email me if you would like to take advantage of this and we will work out a time.
  • We have started putting together some activity packets and delivering to each apartment to try and give everyone something to do! We are also still hosting activities that can be done while keeping a 6 foot distance. Each morning we are playing a Chi Gong video to help with exercise!
  • In an effort to keep "large groups" at a minimum, we are holding two dinner services. The first one starts at 4pm and the second starts at 5:15. In between the services, the tables and chairs are being cleaned and sanitized. We intend to do this as long as possible to avoid closing down the dining room and serving room trays only. Along those lines, if room trays are preferred right now, there is no charge.
  • As the weather is changing, we are encouraging residents to get some fresh air and take walks in our parking lot. This has led to a little confusion as I have had some family members ask if they could meet outside with their loved ones. I am asking that this does not happen during this time to continue to minimize contact.

Please know that the Madison staff are taking all precautions and working hard to maintain high spirits during this time. If you have any questions, concerns or needs, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

Michelle Worley
