COWBOY CAB - ONE FOR THE RECORDS

Hot, fun, well-organized, yummy food, professional, did I mention hot? Those are just some of the comments from those who attended our unforgettable 2019 Cowboy Cab. Despite the heat, we kept on smiling and several of you even found enough energy to join me in the line dancing. It was impressive!

On a personal note, I was awed by the teens, Esther, the energy, the joy, Tammy's flawless logistics, Steve Page (once again!), our amazing staff and board, and all of you. There aren't words to express my appreciation to every attendee, vendor, donor, sponsor, volunteer, teen, staff and board member who all contributed to this Cowboy Cab.

Below you will find some fun photos, but the spirit, love, and laughter experienced at the event are hard to capture on film. Those attributes are also a reflection of our Sonoma community - people who care, do something about what matters to them, and hopefully have fun in the process.

Thank you so much,

MORE GOOD NEWS FOR TEEN SERVICES SONOMA

Our smiles actually began the day before Cowboy Cab when Teen Services Sonoma was awarded a $20,000 Community Grant from Impact100 Sonoma! This grant will allow us to expand our Ready to Work program by offering the Work Readiness courses at two new locations: Boys & Girls Clubs Sonoma-The Club at Maxwell Village and La Luz . Each course is composed of five free workshops (10 hours) that cover essential soft skills including: workplace etiquette and culture; time management and communication; job procurement - resume development, references, applications and cover letters, and interviewing; customer service; and money management. The two new sites will grow enrollment capacity to 40 additional teens and young adults. Upon completion of the course, participants are certified work-ready and are paired with a Job Coach to help them find and apply for a work-experience opportunity.
