Data Update

We are currently meeting our goal in math for our Building School Improvement Plan! Our goal is 80% of all K-5th grade students will meet or
exceed all math grade level standards. We are currently at 80.05%!

We will continue to use Tiger Time to reteach both reading and math standards. Tiger Time is Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30-9:10. We believe this time is vital to the success of our students.

One Heart Pantry and Price Tag Event

We were thankful for the opportunity to show our hearts to the community on Saturday! Thank you to all who made Saturday possible...Sweeny PTO, many Sweeny families, Sweeny staff members and our awesome student leaders! Last, we want to thank the incredible team at Price Elementary for allowing us to partner with them for this event! Together we were able to serve close to 80 families!

Watch D.O.G. Heroes Breakfast

We would love to invite you to our Watch D.O.G. Heroes breakfast event on December 12th from 7:30 AM to 8:10 AM. We will have a Tinker Tree activity prepared for you and your Sweeny student to complete together. We will be serving cinnamon rolls made fresh by the Republic High School FACS Department. Students will also be receiving a free book!

At this event, you will have the opportunity to sign up to be a Watch D.O.G Hero!

Merry Mondays in December

December 3 - Habit 1: Be Proactive - Chilly Days are ahead! Dress like a snowman! Bring hats and gloves to donate to Price Tag to help out on a cold day!

December 10 - Habit 6: Synergize - Work together! We will be working together in our classrooms on a door decorating contest. Dress with your friends as a team or twins!

December 17 - Habit 3: Put First Things First - What goal have you met? Dress like a festive sports star and celebrate a recent goal being met with a holiday dance party in your classroom!

December 21 - Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw - We will Sharpen our Saws together with hot cocoa, the Polar Express, and cookies. Dress in your holiday or a favorite pair of pjs.

Candy Cane Grams

The Student Lighthouse Team is excited to provide Candy Cane Grams this year! Candy Cane Grams will cost $1 and be delivered on Thursday, December 20th. All profits will benefit the Student Leadership Teams that all Sweeny Elementary students and staff participate in! The order form and money must be turned in by Friday, December 14th. Background Checks

If you wish to join your child on their class field trip or volunteer at school, please make sure you have completed a background check. Background checks need to be submitted at least two weeks prior to the field trip or PTO/school event, in order to ensure they are processed in time.
