November 2018 Newsletter

Each year, your support acts as a lifeline between neighbors and the burdens of housing and food insecurity, poverty, and homelessness that threaten their well-being and that of our shared community.

We’ve expanded our services in response to the growing needs of our Morris County community. More than 1,000 of our neighbors were served in 2017.

Your donation provides an opportunity for individuals and families to move beyond the experience of homelessness by offering shelter, housing, life skills and job training that lead to a path of security and self-reliance.

Thank you for a Wonderful 2018 Annual Dinner!

Meet the people of Family Promise
Name : Tom Carr
Role(s) with Family Promise: Volunteer
How Tom got involved with Family Promise:
I started to volunteer with Family Promise of Warren County in 2013 by driving the FP van once or twice week. After driving the van for a few months, I got my congregation, Phillipsburg Alliance Church, to become a host congregation and I became the Coordinator. Our congregation would host families four times a year. I would help other congregations with the overnight shifts. As you might know, volunteering changes lives but also changed my life. Getting to know the individuals changed me. The more I help the more I feel connected to Jesus. In 2018, my wife and I decided to move to Lancaster Count, PA from Warren County. I’m blessed to work from home but do need to travel back to Parsippany at times for work. I believe in the mission of Family Promise and want to continue to help. God placed on my heart to stay involved. I’m able to provide help with overnight shifts within Morris County. I have years of experience with Family Promise and would love to continue to help. If you need help with overnight stays I’m available Mondays thru Thursday nights. Please contact me at 908-763-7896 or cabsfan@yahoo.com
