Initial Concrete, Steel Foundation Work Takes Shape
The very foundation of our "new" Sanctuary has begun to take shape. Over the past two weeks, trenches and large holes have been dug that will form the base of our new foundations and support columns.

"The first pour of concrete was a special day," said Chip Nichols, chair of the Project Facilities Committee that is overseeing all work.

Into each hole and trench goes a tremendous about of steel rebar of various diameters. Each rod of rebar is meticulously tied together. Inspectors from Santa Barbara County will ensure it's all performed at the proper depths and dimensions, per the construction drawings prepared by architect Bob Easton and approved by the County.
