Highlights of Presentation and Discussion Items


The following items were presented to the Board:
Finance Report -
As of May 31, 2019 the Board learned the system is at 93.92  percent for the budget year. The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenues for May 2019 were up 7.15 percent from 2018 collections and up 4.19 percent from last month. A financial statement, investment reports, and bond summaries were also shared, as well as a detailed capital projects analysis. 

Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development Partnership - 
The Forsyth County Board of Education was updated on a potential partnership with the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce (COC) and Forsyth County Schools (FCS) to develop a shared COC position, Director of Workforce Development, that supports workforce initiatives of the community.

Action Items
The following items were approved:

Final Budget Approval FY2020 -
The Board approved by unanimous vote the Budget for FY2020 which keeps the millage rate the same and still has our cost per pupil the lowest of 12 large districts.

Tentative Millage Rate -
The Board approved by unanimous vote the Tentative Millage rate of M&O 17.3 & Debt Service 2.418.
