SFWMD Governing Board Encourages Public to Participate in Online "Lunch and Learn" Session on Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan
New online informative session part of ongoing initiative to engage the public and stakeholders on issues impacting South Florida's water resources and environment

The South Florida Water Management District's (SFWMD) Governing Board is  inviting the public to join the District's first-ever online Lunch and Learn. This first session will be an overview of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan.

Th is online session will be held on Wednesday, June 26, starting at 11:30 a.m. The workshop will be online with the public able to watch on SFWMD's YouTube channel and at sfwmd.gov. The public will be able to submit public comments to the Governing Board during this informative session via the specially dedicated e-mail address publiccomment@sfwmd.gov or via YouTube comments. The meeting will be broadcast from the District's B-1 Auditorium at 3301 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach. Members of the public without access to computers may participate from this location.

The first session on June 26 will cover the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, a joint partnership between the state and federal governments created in 2000 to build a slate of critical Everglades restoration projects such as the C-44 Reservoir and Stormwater Treatment Area.

The new online "Lunch and Learn" sessions will be in addition to the Governing Board workshops that are held the Wednesday before each monthly Governing Board business meeting.
