NJSA
was honored with an American Staffing AssociationChapter Achievement and Legislative Achievement Awards for outstanding programs and efforts in 2018. The award was presented at a special ceremony during Staffing World® 2018, the annual ASA convention and expo held in the metro Washington, DC, area.
ASA evaluated state associations on their support of the staffing and recruiting industry through chapter meetings, special events, educational seminars, government relations activities, and community outreach efforts, and presented the chapters with the most outstanding programs with merit awards. Fifteen chapters were honored this year.

THE WEEK IN TRENTON
NJSA's Lobbyist, Patrick A. Stewart from Public Strategies Impact, has provided members with an update on what is happening in the Trenton and in the state of New Jersey. This update is available to NJSA Members ONLY in our Legal Resource Library on our website. Members must be signed in to access the information.
This week's update includes:
Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin says his goal is to get a minimum wage bill through the Legislature by the first voting session in January.
Gov. Phil Murphy remains relatively popular among New Jerseyans even though they don't like the fact he raised taxes.
Senate President Steve Sweeney isn't sounding too bullish on the prospects of marijuana legalization happening by the end of the year.
