November 2018
YOUR DREAM.  OUR PROMISE.
Explore Your Future 2019

La Crosse Promise will be holding two special events in March 2019 for high school students in La Crosse.

Explore Your Future is designed to connect students with employers and other organizations in our community as part of our ongoing efforts to help kids plan for successful futures.

The "Explore Your Future" Fair will kick off at Logan High School on March 19, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a second event at Central High School on March 26, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We are inviting local employers, colleges, organizations, unions and other members of the business and non-profit community. The goal is to bring the "future" to the students so they can ask questions, find resources and discover the world of work and educational opportunities through connecting with the community.

Registration for participants will begin in December.  If you are interested in participating, please contact us at 608.789.2049.

UPDATE: Eco-Friendly Built Promise Homes

La Crosse Promise was invited to participate in the  Western Technical College Sustainability Institute's Community Resilience Symposium on November 7. We were asked how our builders f ocus on sustainability and energy
efficien cy when building homes for Promise families. Josh Wiedenbeck has built two Promise homes and will complete a third, 921 Farnam, by March 2019. He has a  pending application to be a trade ally with Wisconsin  Focus on Energy . Other measures from Wied Investments, Spies Construction and TN Thompson include: Energy Star appliances, air exchangers to keep the air inside nice and fresh, high-efficiency HVAC systems, low-flow toilets and highly-insulated walls and ceilings.

Thank you!

La Crosse Promise recently received an anonymous donation for $15,000 from a local business who believes in our mission.  We also received support from UW-Credit Union (above) who not only donated $1000 but also will become partners with the Future Center and help students navigate the costs of college, financial aid, credit responsibility and budgeting for the future. Thank you to all for your generosity and support of our programs.
