Santa Claus Visits Downtown Burlington
The jolly old elf himself will be greeting visitors in downtown Burlington again this season at Nancy Neafie Park on the corner of Sixth & Jefferson. Santa will be at his cottage during the Holiday Shop Hops on Thursdays from 6 - 8 PM until Christmas, including the night of Living Windows on December 13. Cameras are welcome. Letters to Santa can be left in the mail slot at his cottage.

Players Workshop Seeks Cast for Winter Show

Players Workshop is holding open auditions for the dramedy Heroes by Gerard Sibleyras (trans. by Tom Stoppard). The cast calls for 3 older men, ages 60s or 70s, to portray 3 retired WWI vets who are plotting their escape from their nursing/retirement home. Michael Londra's Celtic Yuletide at The Legacy Theater
What: Michael Londra, the Irish tenor best known as the voice of Riverdance on Broadway, presents an evening of "Christmas from Ireland" told in song, dance and classic stories of his youth. You will hear traditional, heartwarming Irish carols like "Winter, Fire and Snow" and versions of Christmas songs like "Silent Night." The evening will also feature Celtic songs of New Ireland, including Michael's popular carol "Beyond the Star." Michael also sings many carols more familiar to international audiences like "O Come Emmanuel" and "The First Noel" but sung in a more Celtic traditional style.

Players Workshop to Present Award Winning Mystery-comedy
What:
Players Workshop welcomes the Christmas season with Ken Ludwig's award winning mystery-comedy, The Game's Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays. It is December 1936, and Broadway actor William Gillette, famed for his stage portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut "castle" for a weekend of fun. When one of the guests is murdered, the party in this isolated house of mirrors becomes dangerous, and it is up to Gillette (who assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes), to track down the killer before another victim appears.

Great River Health System Offers Diabetes Classes

Great River Diabetes Education offers four-week group diabetes classes every month.
Group diabetes classes are for people newly diagnosed, making a change in treatment, or having complications or concerns. A physician referral for diabetes education is required. Diabetes educators will assess needs for specific information and skills, teach self-care and provide continuing help. Most insurance companies cover the fee for the class series. A family member or friend is encouraged to attend at no additional cost.
