COMMITTEE UPDATES
Committee activities are one of the main driving forces behind AGHP. They provide the type of exchange between geohazard experts that the field has lacked. AGHP Committees foster essential dialogue between the industry’s various stakeholders, creating the common tools, guidance documents, professional development opportunities, and outreach that raise awareness of and expertise with geohazard designs and technologies.

Education Committee
The Education Committee has developed criteria for approving member submittals for inclusion on the website. The committee is also working on a presentation that will be offered at the 66th Highway Geology Symposium (HGS), which will take place in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, 14 – 17 September 2015. The half-day presentation will focus on multiple topics of interest to the industry and will be open to all HGS attendees. See “OTHER NEWS” in this newsletter for more information on the work.

Seeking a common language: Also of note, Education Committee members are working on approving definitions for use by AGHP’s various committees. Common utilization of terms will assist the writing of procedures and reports and shape consistent messages in the field. The AGHP is excited for the Education Committee’s work here. The dedication of and contributions from their members is greatly appreciated.

See “OTHER NEWS” below for meeting opportunities for all AGHP Committees at the 66th HGS.
