This Thanksgiving,
Set the Table for One More
|
Sell Thanksgiving pies for a good cause! Sign up to be a Pie Seller for our 26th annual
Pie in the Sky
fundraiser and sell delicious pies to friends, family, and coworkers. The pies are baked and donated by Greater Boston’s most generous restaurants, bakeries, and caterers, and each
pie sold provides a week’s worth of nutritious meals for a critically ill neighbor in need.
Pie selling is easy! There’s no minimum fundraising requirement and we provide you with tools, tips, and materials to help you reach your goal. You can sell pies solo or start/join a team.

Omega-3s Essential for
Growth & Development
|
|
|
Omega-3 fatty acids are healthy, polyunsaturated fatty acids with a long list of health benefits that include improving heart health, reducing the risk of heart disease, improving mood, and helping to absorb fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Plus, they're even good for your skin, hair, and nails! Which foods contain oh-so-essential Omega-3? Fatty fishes such as salmon, albacore tuna, sardines, and mackerel are the best sources but you can also find them in cooking oils such as olive, canola, flaxseed, and soybean, as well as ground flaxseeds and walnuts.
What's better than pizza? Homemade pizza topped with fresh leeks, creamy ricotta, and omega-3 packed walnuts! Making your pizza at home is easy and can be so much healthier than what your order for takeout, especially when using store-bought whole wheat dough.

If you've volunteered in our kitchen, you might recognize Chef Jorge! For 15 years, he's been cooking delicious, made-from-scratch meals at Community Servings. "Food is what we do," he says. "My family is from Puerto Rico. Everyone is involved in food businesses. It's everything I've ever known." Thank you for bringing your heritage and love of food to our kitchen, Jorge!

These herbs & spices are about to be turned into a mouth-watering marinade for roasted turkey. Our registered dietitian nutritionists love using herbs, garlic, citrus, and spices to add flavor to our meals—especially in our cardiac and diabetic diets which contain less sodium.
