TECNA Digest - January 2020

TECNA Board Chair Message
Welcome to 2020 and a new decade. I first became involved with TECNA in 2010, the year we launched my tech organization. Much has changed in that time, an inevitability in an industry where change is constant. While the business of tech councils is by nature evergreen, the constant for members of TECNA has been the steady, and evolutionary, support we have enjoyed through our membership. And with that support comes a deep peer network and so many relationships and friendships along the way, and the opportunity to learn from each other in a strong network of sharing, as opposed to competitive, member organizations.

Last year we took the learning element to a new level with the introduction of the TECNA Innovation Awards, an opportunity to be exposed to some of the exciting and innovative initiatives being delivered by our peers, and a chance to celebrate the incredible work of the staff members behind them. Those first Innovation Awards attracted over 30 submissions highlighting forward-thinking programming in advocacy, marketing, workforce development and member engagement. The call for submissions for the 2020 awards will be coming shortly, and we look forward to seeing your submissions and celebrating this year's Innovation Awards at our 2020 Summer Conference in Pittsburgh in July. In the meantime, happy new year. I look forward to seeing you during our exciting 2020 calendar of events including the TECNA DC Fly-in next month, the 2020 CEO Retreat in California in March, and of course the Summer Conference.
