Featured Artists of the Month:
Oil and Water
December 1st - 30th
Opening Reception on Saturday, December 1st
2:00 - 4:00 PM
Woodbury Library

Oil and Watera group show of oils and watercolors is on display at the Woodbury Public Library December 1 - 30.   In 2012, Diana "Nanny" Swoyer joined her friends, Kit Sagendorf, Maryellen Furse, Jan Grody, and Nancy Pistone, in the spring painting class with Marija McCarthy at Washington Art Association.  Ms McCarthy's wonderful watercolor/oil painting classes were very popular with students in the area for many years. Over the next few years, Hitchy Rahilly, Carol O'Toole, Jean O'Reilly and Sandy Dolinksy joined in. In 2014, Marija retired but the group decided to continue on painting together.  The group has painted at the Litchfield Community Center in all seasons come rain or shine.  The artists believe that painting is a solitary endeavor but to find friends to paint with can be very stimulating and helpful.

The group gave themselves the name  Oil and Water
because they paint in both media.  The phrase often interpreted as "conflicted" as it's the opposite of what they are.  The mutual celebration of each artist's talents is what the group is all about.
