Every month, there will be a different group at Live Oak featured in our "Love Notes" appreciation program. You're encouraged to grab one of those pink sheets and let the group know how much you appreciate what they contribute to Live Oak life.  June love notes will be for our Faith Development program.  please be sure to stop by the Love Notes box and show your love!

HELP DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO OUR NEIGHBORS
Live Oak Church will be distributing food to our neighbors. Please volunteer to help:
Friday, June 21st @ 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Live Oak parking lot. This is when we distribute the food to our neighbors. Volunteers are needed to set up and take down the tables, help with the selection of food, and help carry food to our neighbors cars. You do not need to remain the entire 2 & 1/2 hours. Your help is appreciated!

This partnership with Hill Country Community Ministries is the church's "signature project". It is our opportunity to live our Mission of ENRICHING CONNECTIONS with our neighbors in need. Any questions please contact Donna Durbin at: HCCM@liveoakuu.org

(This was rescheduled due to storm warnings on June 9.) The group is open to women high school age and older. Contact: Linda Webster lilithfree2@gmail.com

Leadership Development
The Policy Committee committed to a 2019 Vision Action Plan to create and implement a leadership development program. At the June meeting, the Task Group reviewed leadership training programs offered by the UUA. It was decided that we can tailor our own program at Live Oak that meets the needs of members who lead teams and committees. For more information, please speak to the Task Group members: Rachel Sartin, Rev. Joanna, Julia Mitschke, Lee Collins, and Tim Buckley

Faith Development
Here's what you need to know this week!

Our summer programming continues this Sunday at 11 AM. Adults are invited to attend our weekly discussions on the worship topic called 'Musings on the Message.' Attendees will meet in Room 109 beginning at 11:10 and ending at noon. These groups will mostly be self-facilitated, but you will find all the materials there ready for you to begin each Sunday.

Children and youth are exploring cultural cuisine throughout the summer using the curriculum  Books and Cooks. Each week they will engage with food from another culture through a story and cooking a dish together. There will be optional games and art activities to fill time as needed. The class will meet in Room 205 for the summer, and children 5th grade and under should be signed out by a family member by noon. Older youth (middle school and up) are encouraged to sign up to help lead a session, or just come and help with the cooking and storytime.

Since it is a food-based curriculum, each week when you sign your child in at the table in the Fellowship Hall you will find a list of the ingredients for the day so that you can let the teachers know if there is something your child should not have. We will make sure that our dishes are gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free as much as possible to avoid common allergens.  Please check each week!

If you are interested in helping over the summer, there are still slots available for teachers. Please see the sign-up in the Narthex or sign-up here
