QUICK LINKS
New Major in Philosophy, Politics and Economics
PPE Logo
Our lives and our communities are profoundly shaped by political and economic forces that often seem difficult or impossible to control. College graduates are increasingly expected to think across traditional  boundaries and to have skills that enable them to address complex problems in both the public and private sectors. The next generation of citizens must be able to understand how these forces work, examine their impact, and think carefully about the values at stake in the choices we face. The Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) major offers both broad and rigorous training in the foundations of all three disciplines, enabling students to study the forces and institutions that shape the modern world from more than one perspective. The analytical tools and interdisciplinary perspective that the PPE major provides will prepare students for careers in law, business, finance, consulting, public policy and public service, secondary and higher education, and journalism. For more information contact Eric MacGilvray, [email protected] or Piers Turner, [email protected] .

Networking - Building Connections!
Career Success Image
The holidays are right around the corner! Are you dreading those conversations with your Great Aunt Sue who will ask you
way too personal questions about pretty much everything - including your still amorphous post-graduation plans? Never fear! Great Aunt Sue means well (we hope), and could in fact be a great resource in your internship or job search. Engage with Great Aunt Sue! Tell her about your interests and what types of careers you are considering. It might very well turn out that her friend Tina from Jazzercise has a nephew who works in your field... Sue gets his contact information from Tina, you reach out to set up an informational phone call. He then shares that he knows of a colleague who is hiring and passes along your resume - and BOOM you get an interview! Your network is larger than you might imagine. Don't be afraid to use any connections! And if Great Aunt Sue doesn't ask about your plans - also never fear! The Summer Internship and Opportunity Fair is on February 27 th , and the Spring Career Fair is on January 29 th !
Find more tips on networking on the Career Success website. Career Success also offers a number of events that provide networking opportunities for you, such as the Coffee Chat series, throughout the semester. And AlumniFire is a wonderful, unique to OSU platform which allows you to connect specifically with fellow Buckeyes - both current students and alums.
