The Urbana Free Library's
145th Anniversary Celebration!
Saturday, July 6 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Founded in 1874, The Urbana Free Library has proudly served the people of Urbana ever since. Help us celebrate 145 years of Library service! Come listen to live music from Almost "A" Trio , explore a selection of documents and items from the Library's history presented by the Champaign County Historical Archives , play a library-themed BINGO game, enjoy anniversary crafts, food and refreshments, and more!

The celebration continues throughout the year so watch for more events in the future!

The  Urbana Arts and Culture Program  and  The Urbana Free Library  in partnership with  Kanopy  will be screening "Show Cats" as part of the  Urbanalove Summer Movie Nights.  

This film by Mark Lewis features champion cats, human showmanship, pride, some dirty tricks, buckets of tears and jubilation as all being part of the competition as cat owners go head to head for the cat world's highest honor in "Show Cats."

Cosponsored by  25 O'Clock Brewing Company  and  Broadway Food Hall .

The  Urbana Arts and Culture Program  and  The Urbana Free Library  in partnership with  Kanopy  present Urbanalove Summer Movie Nights, indoor and outdoor movie screenings throughout the summer in conjunction with Urbanalove!

This month, we're delighted to feature "Hearts Beat Loud" - not only a tribute to the joy that music can bring, but it is also a celebration of the bond between a daughter and her father. The film will screen at sundown (estimated 8:30pm). Free and open to the public.

Join  Dave Leake , retired Director of the William M. Staerkel Planetarium , for a virtual trip to the moon in honor of the 50th anniversary of the famous Apollo 11 moon landing. How can humans live and work in the hostile environment of space?  Find out how as Dave demonstrates a real NASA space suit. Learn how the space suit developed, how it works, and how it is used to work in space during this interactive presentation.

Join us for the next installment of our  Young Artist’s Studio  featuring local artist,  Kvn Tazjea , Director of the D.O.S.E. (Dreams Orchestrated Simply by Effort) Foundation. Youth participants will try their hands at theater games designed to teach skills in the performing arts. All events in the series are free and open to the public. Dress comfortably to move.

For children ages 5 to 11 (7 and under with a caregiver).

The Young Artist's Studio  is a series of art workshops sponsored by  The Urbana Free Library  and the  The Urbana Arts & Culture Program  designed to offer youth an opportunity to explore the arts!

The  City of Urbana's Arts and Culture Program Urbana Park District 40 North 88 West Champaign County Arts Council The Urbana Free Library , and the  Urbana Business Association  are proud to present the  Downtown Get Down , a downtown events series that will take place on the 4th Saturday of the month May - August on Main Street in the heart of Downtown Urbana! The  Downtown Get Down  features live concerts, DJs, an artist’s street market, kids zone, teen maker lab, inflatables, games, live arts demos, performances, and so much more.
