2018 Platinum Seal of Transparency
FIRE was created on the foundation of integrity and direct intervention, as an alternative to the graft and loopholes commonly found in the complex environment of a struggling economy and the developing world. We are excited and honored to have achieved
Guidestar's 2018 Platinum Seal of Transparency, Guidestar's highest rating. Visit our profile to learn more about FIRE's structure, our program evaluation matrix and more.
Welcome Mary Williams!!
We would like to extend an overdue welcome to Mary Williams, FIRE's Communication Director. Mary joined FIRE's team in February bringing decades of design and communication experience with her. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Utah and a Masters Degree in Art Education from Boise State University. Having held professional roles in the outdoor recreation industry as a Snowbird ski patroller, Mt. Rainier climbing guide, Grand Canyon river guide and Idaho river outfitter, Mary employs a team player approach to working with FIRE. She also runs her graphic design business, Mary Williams Design, serving clients in the non-profit and outdoor industry, service industry, start-up, and business sector. We are so grateful for her experience, endless positivity and "can-do" attitude! Thank you helping FIRE grow into a new decade of work!
Mongolia Tour Trip Sept. 6-18, 2019
Have you dreamed of going to Mongolia or always wanted to learn about the Kazakh eagle hunters?

Join FIRE next September as we partner with Kobesh Travel for a fundraising trip. Visit many of the highlights of Western Mongolia including Tavan Bogd National Park, horse, camel riding and hiking, archeological sites, private ger (yurt) stays with eagle hunting families and culminates with the two-day Altai Eagle Festival. Enjoy an intimate trip in one of the most unique parts of the world while support FIRE's programs all at the same time. See our fabulous itinerary here.

Western Mongolia has for much of its history been on the boundary between civilizations-between Chinese-dominated Asian culture to the east and European cultures to the west and divided by the Altai mountains and the Tibetan plateau to the south. Large and endangered animals call the region home including snow leopards, the Govi Bear, Argali sheep, ibex, antelope, gazelle, falcons, golden eagles, wolves, foxes, and many more. It is also the most ethnically diverse, mountainous, and scenic region of Mongolia, with thousands of years of history. Western Mongolia is a land of nomadic tribes, horses, snow-covered peaks, endless grasslands, rivers, and Kazakh hospitality.
