Acclimating to Excellence: An HR Professional’s Exploration into Reimagining Orientation

The Kentucky Office of Rural Health invites human resource and organizational development professionals working in a hospital or clinic setting to join us for an energy-packed and special day of learning, discovery, networking and brainstorming on the subject of “Acclimating to Excellence.”

We’ve invited Michelle Rathman, President of Impact! Communication, Inc., a rural health expert on organizational culture, leadership and communication development, engaging facilitator and presenter, to create an experience designed especially for those responsible for onboarding new employees, organization-wide training, and the challenging job of enforcing policies around accountability, behavior standards and performance expectations.

Why this program? Below is an excerpt from the program outline:

“Research is clear that effective “onboarding” can have a dramatic effect on job performance and satisfaction, organizational commitment, and retention.  At the same time, there is more than enough evidence that shows a poor organizational socialization process can result in emotional exhaustion and job burnout.

In a health care setting where quality, safety, privacy, compassion, empathy, resilience, and a commitment to zero harm are top priorities, it is especially critical to acclimate new hires to a culture of excellence; and, that beyond orientation, new employees observe excellence in action by their managers and fellow employees.

During “Acclimating to Excellence: An HR Professional’s Exploration into Reimagining Orientation” human resource professionals and organizational development professionals will explore the benefits of modifying their current onboarding practices and discover strategies that offer new team members with a framework and tools that will help them deliver on the organization’s mission of excellent care, quality, and service from day one.

This one day event is being offered at no cost but a $50 fee will be assessed for no-shows who do not send cancellation notice prior to the event, the deadline to register is July 19th.
