FLOWER OF THE MONTH
Marigolds

This month we celebrate the beauty of 
Marigolds.

Between their vibrant golden, orange and yellow colors and powerful aroma, marigolds are some of the most beautiful and exciting fall flowers to include in bouquets and arrangements. 

Did you know?
Dyes extracted from the marigold flowers are used in textile and food industry.
Essential oils extracted from the marigold show protective effects on the skin. They are used in cosmetic industry for the production of creams and lotions.
Medical studies showed that marigold contains substances with anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.


If you know somebody who is celebrating their birthday in this month, be sure to add some Marigolds to their  bouquet!

FLORAL EVENTS: 
Join us this month for Petal It Forward.
On Wednesday, October 24th, 2018 Sequoia Floral Int'l will be participating in the Society of American Florists' Petal It Forward event. Two free bouquets will be given away to each customer at our location 3245 Santa Rosa Ave. Santa Rosa. Our only request: give one of them away to a friend or stranger who could use a smile.

Last year our Petal It Forward event was altered due to the Sonoma County Fires. We ended up giving away our bouquets to many who were enduring some of the hardest moments of their lives. The power of human kindness- and the inherent joy that flowers bring keeps us convinced were in the right business. We are grateful to be surrounded by a strong and resilient community here in Sonoma County!
