Excerpt from the  Archdiocese:
"....we anticipated a return to school a return to campus on Monday, April 20. After consultation with public health officials....we have not been given a date. Instead we've been advised to communicate that a return to in-person instruction will resume when it is safe to do so."

Here is their letter....

"To all Serra students from a graduate in 1954.  Ann SMA'55 and I have been and will continue to support Serra High School in these difficult times.

I just want to let all the young men and women at Serra High School to know that Ann and I are praying that none of you or your Parents and especially your Grandparents will not get this virus. Please stay safe and may God protect all of us."

 Love,
Jerry and Ann.

Serra Friends and Alumni
It is inspiring to see all of the great things people are doing to help in this critical time; the food banks, the students organizing to deliver food to the housebound, the front line docs, nurses, CNA's, grocery workers, police, fire and the many unsung who are doing things to help in their communities.  There are many Serra Alumni, Parents and Friends doing heroic things.
Thank you to all of you.

Many of you have read how well Serra students  have been doing academically in these trying times. This  success continues. Take a look at this video to  see what our students think.

The Situation
We wish we could say that about the financials. Here are numbers: Last year's gross revenues were $4,072,901.  Expenses were $3,970,982. Revenue in excess of expense was $101,919. A tightrope.  0.02.
Last year we received $250,845 from Alumni and $180,245 from other individual donors, $357,487 from foundations and $196,970 from corps, small businesses and other organizations. The total from the Advancement and Alumni Office was $985,347.
In short, the Advancement Office produced close to 25% of Serra's revenue last year. Simply put, with 1/3 of fiscal year to go, revenue from these sources has cratered.

In the Fall of 1989, Serra won its first State Football Championship against the odds.

Serra has some long odds again.
Let's Win!
The Issue
We are very aware of the financial struggles many are having everywhere. For Serra, we have restaurant owners who donate and other small businesses who help, now they can't. 3 individual major donors are reducing their help. After a great start, we have had to postpone the Cavalier Golf Classic and the Car Show. The planned reunions are being monitored for a date change.

The projected revenue decline is devastating.
Our Parents
The transaction below would take place online today.

Most parents are continuing to pay tuition and incoming parents are registering. A thank you to all of them. However, we have a number of parents who have lost their jobs, are furloughed etc...So, what do we do?
The All Hail! Campaign
1300 alumni and friends of Serra read the newsletter. Close to 3000 follow us on Facebook, most Alumni are proud to say they are from Serra.....The calls for All Hail! reverberate on Social Media. Yet the total number of Alumni who donated last year was 251.
We know many are personally hurting. If you can help Serra or know someone who can, please click here to go online ......and donate or send a check to:
