FedEx acquires 1,000 Chanje electric delivery vehicles
FedEx is expanding its fleet with 1,000 Chanje V8100 electric delivery vehicles. The company said it is purchasing 100 of them from Chanje Energy and leasing 900 from Ryder System. The purpose-built electric vehicles will be operated by FedEx Express for commercial and residential pick-up and delivery services in the United States. Full story

CARB approves tool to track emissions on trucks
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) adopted a new emissions tracking program that would help regulators identify vehicles with excess smog-related and greenhouse gas emissions. Full story

NYC fleet looks to phase out traditional diesel
After a six-month trial using renewable diesel in heavy trucks this past summer, the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services is planning a long-term purchasing contract for much more of the fuel as the city moves to phase out petroleum-based diesel in its fleet vehicles. Colorado green-lights low-emission vehicle standards
Colorado’s Air Quality Control Commission has approved new low-emission vehicle standards for light- and medium-duty motor vehicles sold in Colorado beginning in the 2022 model year. The new standards are estimated to reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by nearly two million tons annually by 2030, according to the commission. Full story
