2018 Public Library Building Award
for Restoration & Renovation

The Moffat Library of Washingtonville is honored to be the recipient of a 2018 New York Library Association Public Library Section Building Award for Renovation & Restoration, which will be awarded at the Association's Annual Meeting on Friday, November 9th in Rochester, New York.

The Library is one of two recipients of this biennial award, which alternately focuses on new construction one year and then renovation & restoration the next.

Last month, the Library was also awarded a New York State construction grant for $135,000 to renovate and restore the historic carriage house on the library property that will provide additional storage & collection space.

Congratulations to you, our community!
You made this possible!

GIRL SCOUT
TROOP 107
Working towards
a bronze award @Moffat!

On Tuesday, September 25th,  five members of Girl Scout Troop 107 volunteered to prepare the beds around the library for winter, as part of their work on their Bronze Award.

Troop members Anna, Jackie, Josie, John & Alyssa, led by troop leaders Theresa & Anna-Marie, all worked to weed the beds at the library; and then they planted crocus bulbs in front of the main entrance.

We will be sure to keep an eye out for the crocus flowers in late winter/early spring!

Thanks to Girl Scout Troop 107 for their fine work in beautifying their community!
