Union Station in New Haven
New Plans Unveiled For 2nd Union Station Garage     
The state has a new design for a second parking garage at Union Station.

Unlike the design from a year-and-a-half ago, this one has plenty of spaces for bikes.

At Tuesday night's monthly meeting of the Connecticut Commuter Rail Council in a fourth-floor office at Union Station, CHA Consulting Project Manager Jeff Parker and state Department of Transportation Chief Engineer Mark Rolfe presented the state's latest designs for a second parking garage at the city's main train station on Union Avenue.

The proposed seven-level, 1,015-space garage will replace the 260-space surface parking lot that sits right next to the existing city-run Union Station garage and across the street from the the city's police headquarters. Read More

Orange wetlands commission approves application for Stew Leonard property
After a public hearing that spanned three meetings and included hours of talking by an attorney, engineers, a soil scientist and one resident in opposition, the Inland Wetlands and Water Courses Commission Tuesday night approved an application for the developer of a business-to-business distribution center to build on property owned by Stew Leonard.

The unanimous vote clears the way for the Town Plan and Zoning Commission to vote on an a temporary special use earth materials removal and filling application at the site by Stew Leonards Orange LLC, for the proposed construction of a 47,178-square-foot distribution facility and a 9,680-square-foot maintenance building. New Haven biotech raises $21M to bolster immunotherapy pipeline  
A New Haven biotech spun out of Yale said it has raised $21 million in hopes of bringing a new class of immunotherapy drugs to human trials by 2020.

Kleo Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced it closed last week on the Series B financing round, which was led by Japanese biopharma PeptiDream Inc., with participation by fellow Elm City biotech Biohaven Pharmaceuticals Holding Co.

Biohaven, which led Kleo's Series A financing round two years ago, said it now owns roughly 42 percent of the company. Read More
