This Sunday Dec. 2
Communion
1st Sunday of Advent
No Gathering service. Please enjoy the Advent Event!

I will miss gathering with you for worship this week, but we will have other gifts and graces.  The Advent Event begins at 9:30am in Fellowship Hall. There will be crafts, games, and cookies to decorate (and eat!). You can write a Christmas card to a woman who is part of CATCH Court, either as a survivor or as a mentor. And don’t forget to pick up your Advent Devotional, or to access it from our website.
You might want to wear something festive – after worship at both 8:30am and 11:00am, we will take congregational Christmas photos. (Gathering will do our photo at the beginning of worship next week, the 9 th , before the children leave.)
This is the beginning of our season of waiting and preparing. Remember that we are going for it – for joy and peace and powerful love. We aren’t interested in perfect or safe or numb, for Christ calls us to be all the way alive. For Christmas and for always.

Yours ever in that journey,
Katie
Walking in the Dark
Tuesdays, Nov. 27, 7pm, Lounge
Led by Tracy Keenan. This is loosely based on Barbara Brown Taylor’s book, Learning to Walk in the Dark, about learning to navigate even when we don’t have the answers, which is actually much of the time. “Darkness” is such a loaded word, but God’s presence is sometimes described biblically as being a kind of luminous darkness.
