When it all comes together, it is worth celebrating. Read more .

Learn, Savor and Enjoy at a Healthy Options Cooking Class!

Would you like to spice up your cooking routine and learn how to make healthy and delicious dishes from Buffalo’s favorite restaurant chefs? Then join the Independent Health Foundation for a Healthy Options cooking class.

By attending a class, you will be taught simple cooking techniques by a professional chef. Each class features nutritious recipes that follow healthy eating guidelines. You will then have the chance to sample and enjoy the tasty dishes you create together.

There are three types of Healthy Options cooking classes that are currently open to the entire community:

1.        Demonstration – Sit back and relax while our chefs do all the work. They will demonstrate step-by-step how to bring together each healthy recipe so that you can replicate it at home.

2.        Sushi Rolling – Grab a sushi mat and get rolling. Chef Kevin from Sun Cuisines will show you how you can make this nutritious, authentic entrée in your own kitchen using fresh ingredients.

3.        Hands On – Don’t be afraid to dive in and get your hands a little dirty. Our chefs will guide you every step of the way as you transform an array of ingredients into a culinary masterpiece.

D’Avolio Kitchen (5409 Main Street in Williamsville), Sun Cuisines (5759 Main Street in Williamsville) and Artisan Kitchens & Baths Culinary Loft (200 Amherst Street in Buffalo) host these classes on a monthly basis. All skill levels are welcome. Plus, Independent Health members receive a $5 discount off the cost of each class.

In addition, the Independent Health Foundation offers private/corporate packages for a customized experience for any employer group, staff retreat or team building event. Invite up to 25 coworkers to socialize while learning new skills in the kitchen and enjoying good food.
