Garage Sales
Permits
As long as a garage sale permit has been pulled, a garage sale is allowed any time of the year between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm for three consecutive days. A maximum of three garage sale permits can be issued to an address during a 12-month period.

Signs
Signs advertising the sale are to be purchased from the City only and will be marked with the permit number and the dates of the sale. The purchase of these signs constitute the only cost of the permit.
Currently the Lathrup Village offers for purchase:
·  Two signs for $5
·  Three signs for $7

Only signs purchased from the City can be displayed during the sale and must not be placed in the City-owned right of way. Signs placed incorrectly will be removed as soon as they are discovered per Zoning Ordinance, Article 4.2

Oakland County Housing Survey

The Oakland County Neighborhood and Housing Development division is excited to launch a quick Oakland County Neighborhood and Housing Needs Survey. Oakland County genuinely want to know how Oakland County residents see their own communities. In order to give us the most diverse representation, they are sharing this far and wide. We hope that everyone from Lathrup Village will take 10 minutes to take the survey. They are extending the invitation to homeowners, renters, families, and couples. They would love to hear from seniors, college students, Veterans, New Americans, and everyone in between. Anyone who lives, works or plays here is invited to participate! The more survey-takers we have, the more complete the picture of Oakland County housing and community needs will become.

Please feel free to share the link with your networks. The survey is in English, Spanish, Arabic, and Simplified Chinese. Any questions can be directed to chi@oakgov.com or 248.858.0493.

Water Line Material Survey
IMPORTANT REMINDER!

Lathrup Village residents are being asked to help to identifying if the water service material that connects to the water meter in their home contains lead, copper, or galvanized steel.

The City has received 126 responses to the survey so far! As expected, most properties have copper lines connecting to their water meters inside of their homes. But, it is important to note that 10 homes have been identified as having lead and 4 with galvanized steel. The lead and galvanized steel water service lines will be placed on the list and scheduled for replacement of the entire water service line – at the expense of the city.

If you haven’t already participated in the survey, please take a moment to participate in this important survey. Additional information about this requirement is available at this link and in this eNewsletter.

The information submitted will be reviewed by staff and loaded onto a GIS map and database. This will make it easier for the Department of Public Service to identify the materials for each property and which may require replacement., which is required by the State of Michigan.
