Spotlight: The Trails at Mill Place - Verona's First Public-Use Walking Trail
Store your sneakers in the office, and plan to use your next lunch break to visit Verona's first public-use walking path! The Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening, held last Thursday, officially opened The Trails at Mill Place and celebrated a special project years in the making. The Trail includes a 2/3 mile paved path, a picnic shelter, benches and a freshwater fish pond available for licensed catch-and-release.
The opening of the Trail adds a new outdoor recreation amenity for Park tenants as well as Verona residents. A space to enjoy the outdoors and exercise in a traffic-free, pedestrian-focused environment, the Trail is integrated within the development of the Park including the strategic use of a best management practice pond.
As Mill Place Commerce Park looks to the future, thoughtful planning remains a priority and is being recognized outside of this community. The Park received a spotlight in the recent Shenandoah Valley Partnership Site Selector Familiarization Tour as seven of the country's top site selectors visited the Valley for a two-day food & beverage-focused tour. The tour included a stop by Mill Place Commerce Park, specifically the new walking trail, and a highlight of the Park's overall assets and Augusta County's friendly business policies.
As always, thank you for your support of Augusta County, and here's to the sun! We hope to see you on the trail.
Plan to take the kids out on the farm this Sunday, October 7, for a day of agriculture education and kid-friendly activities including a petting zoo, pumpkin painting, corn maze, pony rides and more. Held by the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce, the event is free for kids 4 and under.
