Colorado Gives Day
December 4, 2018

Colorado Gives Day is one week from today! We are counting on your support for this major fundraising event which is so vital to our success and our mission.   Your donations help us so much, and with every contribution we are eligible for the matching funds provided proportionally by First Bank and Community First Foundation.

Here are some statistics to demonstrate how your donation can help:
$1,500 will help us provide 28 spay surgeries, 25 neuter surgeries, 60 rabies vaccines, and 35 FVRCP vaccines to the shelter kittens.
Annually, we spend approximately $33,000 on medical procedures and general medical care for the shelter cats and kittens.

We need and appreciate your support...no amount is too small to make a difference.  You can schedule your donation early all this week or plan to give on December 4th!

Donations can be scheduled early by visiting: https://www.coloradogives.org/catcaresociety/overview

Santa Paws Festival
December 1st and 2nd
Our annual Santa Paws Festival is this Saturday and Sunday, so be sure to put it on your calendar.  Our volunteers and staff have been working tirelessly to create Helena's Holiday Market, which consists of beautiful handcrafted items and donated treasures.  You will find cat themed articles, ornaments and other holiday decor, and kitchen goods in the market. Be sure to browse the books in the Book Nook, and pick up some delicious goodies at the Bake Sale.   Also, don't miss having a glass of the Champagne punch downstairs to refresh you while at the festival!

Sue Sioux's Silent Auction will be featured both days offering baskets like Wild Bird Lovers, Salsa Snacks, Sunday Brunch, and Date Night Out.

For just $10 you can buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win $250 worth of cat supply and clinic coupons.  Be sure to check out the Meow Mart as it will be fully stocked with great cat toys and supplies.  If you spend $10 at the Mart you can Spin-the-Wheel for free cat goods! The children can look forward to meeting ol' Santa Paws, who will be bearing candy canes and beanie babies for all.

Festival times:
Saturday, Dec 1: 10am to 3pm
Sunday, Dec 2: 11am to 2pm

If you have baked goods for the sale, remember to deliver them to the shelter between noon and 5PM on Thursday, November 29th or by noon on Friday the 30th.  Please check out the flyer for wrapping guidelines.

Christmas Ornament Drive and
Handcrafted Room Ornament Drive
Shelter Cats - Christmas Ornament Donation Drive
Dec 1- Dec 31, 2018

Our shelter cats are eagerly awaiting the ornament drive to begin.  Each kitty has a picture themed ornament which was designed just for it.  You can sponsor a cat with a $10 donation, and our goal is to have every one of our felines sponsored this holiday season.  The ornaments will decorate our tree, and will then be yours to keep.
You can take part in the drive at the shelter, or donate securely on-line by clicking this link

Shelter Handcrafted Room Ornament Drive
Dec 1- Dec 31, 2018

A special drive is also starting in December for those supporters who are able to make a larger donation to Cat Care Society.  We have created handcrafted wooden ornaments representing the various rooms, Nibbles & Kibbles Food Bank, the main hallway, and the entire shelter.  Like the shelter cat ornaments, these will decorate the hallway and the ornaments will then belong to you.  Please help with these donations if you can.  Your support is critical to the success of our mission of caring for homeless, abused, and neglected cats.  Sponsor at the shelter, or click this link to donate securely on-line.

Donation levels:
$250 Donation for any of the Blue, Orange, Gold, Red, Purple, Green, or Kitten Rooms
$250 Donation for Nibbles and Kibbles Food Bank
$500 Donation for the Grand Hallway
$1000 Donation for the entire Shelter

Tails of the
Painted Cats 2019
Cat Sponsors for Artists Needed
We have several artists who still need sponsors for the cat art works they are creating for the Tails of the Painted Cats 2019.

The artists all now have the feline forms and are beginning the painting and other methods they use to decorate the cats.  The kitties are due back in March when they will be photographed and prepared for the summer display tour that begins in May. The feline creations will be shown in the Lakewood Arts Council Gallery, The Depot Art Center in Littleton, and the Lakewood Cultural Center and sponsors' names are featured with each cat.

The Artist Sponsorship program pays for the expenses incurred by the shelter and the artists.  The artists do not receive any compensation for their time and talent, so we provide the undecorated form, a small stipend to help with art supplies, and tickets to the event. Covering these costs is vital to the success of this major fundraiser. That's where supporters like you can help.

Please consider a year-end donation that will help us make this  event so successful.  Cat Care Society is a 501c3 so this may help with tax planning for your contributions.   If you receive a required minimum distribution at year end, please consider using it to sponsor a cat.   Based on your tax situation this may be a tax deductible contribution.    The basic sponsorship level to cover the expenses listed above is $450. The next level is $600 which also includes a pair of dinner event tickets for the sponsor. All sponsors will be invited to a special Sneak Preview Champagne Reception on April 28, 2019, where they will meet the artist they sponsored and view all of the finished cats before they go on tour.
If you are interested in viewing the designs still available, please contact Jane Dorsey at 303-239-9680 Ext 16 or at [email protected]

The 2019 Tails of the Painted Cats Gala will be held at Pinehurst Country Club on September 14, 2019. Save the date!

Opt to Adopt Gizmo

Please meet Gizmo.  She is 11 years old, and was found as a stray. She is very sweet and a bit sassy. She doesn't like other animals and needs to be the only cat in her new home. She loves food and also loves head scratches.  Because of her age, Gizmo is eligible for our Perpet-U-Care program.  Please click here to learn more about this program.   Come meet Gizmo...she might be just the kitty for your home!

You can read more about Gizmo on her Petango page:

Clinic News
Kato
You might remember our story about the 2 week old kitten rescued from a window well and brought to the shelter by a kind man for help.  We showed the man how to care for the kitten and get him to eat again.  The picture above is of the kitten, Kato, at 8 weeks and doing great!  His new dad loves him so much, and they are bonding more with each day!

We are very happy to have our  new dental technician, Karie Sibert, working with us now.  She's been a veterinary technician doing dentals for more than 17 years.   Dental care is essential for cats...please have your furry friends checked periodically for their dental health.
