UNISON PRAYER JANUARY 18/19
Unison Prayer Logo
Behold Lord, an empty vessel needing to be filled. Lord, fill it. I am weak in my faith, strengthen me. I am cold in love, so warm me and make me fervent so your love will go out from me to my neighbor. At times I doubt and am not sure I trust you, so help me Lord. Strengthen my faith and trust in you. I am poor, you are rich. I am grateful you came to be merciful to sinners. Pour your forgiveness anew into my life and blot out my sin, guilt and shame so I may know peace and joy in my life and relationships. Amen.

The Singles are off and running to their February event!

Siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter were America's most popular group of the '70s with iconic ballads that defined an era. With such memorable hits as "Close To You," "Top of the World," "Rainy Days and Mondays" and "We've Only Just Begun," vocalist Emily Walter will melt your heart as she takes on the role of Karen Carpenter for this nostalgic, delightful afternoon.

Call the Church Office no later than Friday, February 7 to reserve a ticket ($28) for "We've Only Just Begun - The Carpenters" at Chandler Center for the Arts on Sunday, February 16, 3:00 pm. Carpool will leave the parking lot at 2:00 pm the day of the event.
2020 ANNUAL WOMAN'S RETREAT
Snowflakes

Sun Lakes UMW is happy to welcome back Pastor Jean Newell who will once again team with Bev Tarpley to present our annual Women's Retreat on Saturday, February 8, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in Lindsay Hall.

The retreat entitled "Let It Go!" is inspired by the song from the animated movie, Frozen. In the movie, Elsa, the newly crowned queen of Arendelle, sings: "The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside..."

Pastor Jean will compare our own lives with Elsa's. The worst storms can be storms which create fear and unrest in our lives. She will teach us what the world says about letting go; how God teaches us to let go; and finally, that God will never let us go.

Admission ticket is ($15) which includes a motivational program, handouts, souvenirs, morning refreshments, and a soup-and-salad lunch catered by Sweet Tomatoes, plus fun and fellowship. Scholarships are available; please check with the church office.

Tickets can be purchased in the church office until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, or between services in Lindsay Hall on Sundays, January 26 and February 2.
