                     This Week's Theme
Five Senses
As the new season begins, we will start some new themes appropriate for the season. Christmas is filled with sights, sounds, smells and taste. Things to look at, things to hold and things to experience.  Our classroom theme this week is to explore our five senses. What a wonderful way to discover the world around us and experience all the wonders.

Tuition Statements
In an effort to conserve paper, we do not send weekly tuition statements unless your balance begins to run up.

You may always request a printed statement with the CDC accountant, Rachel Julian, at [email protected]

Quality Rated
Georgia's Quality Rating and Improvement System

Quality Rated is Georgia's system to determine, improve, and communicate the quality of programs that provide child care. Similar to rating systems for restaurants and hotels, Quality Rated assigns one, two or three stars to early education and school-age care programs that meet or exceed the minimum state requirements. By participating in Georgia's voluntary Quality Rated program, programs make a commitment to work continuously to improve the quality of care they provide to children and families.

Quality Rated gives parents and families greater confidence in their child care choice because independent, credentialed experts in early education have assessed whether programs follow best practices, such as:
  • Employing qualified and well-trained teachers
  • Providing a safe, healthy and caring environment
  • Implementing individualized instruction
  • Offering a curriculum that prepares children for kindergarten
  • A focus on both active learning and social-emotional development
  • Engaging families
  • Providing a low teacher-student ratio

First Presbyterian Church Child Development Center will be evaluated between December 11 and January 13. We are currently a 2-star rated program and are working towards achieving the 3 Star Quality Rating from the state of Georgia.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact the FPC-CDC at 770-532-8188.
