Coronavirus and Your Drinking Water
In light of the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) Pandemic, Padre Dam wants to reassure customers that this virus has no impact on the District's drinking water supply. Padre Dam is committed to providing its customers with safe and reliable water that is both available and plentiful.

Padre Dam receives 100 percent of our drinking water supply from the San Diego County Water Authority water treatment plants. The final process of water treatment includes disinfection, which inactivates viruses, including the coronavirus.  Water is tested throughout Padre Dam's system on a daily basis to ensure it maintains a consistent disinfectant residual level (chlorine). Our water meets all stringent state and federal drinking water requirements.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we understand some people are experiencing financial hardships that may cause difficulty in paying your bill. Please contact us to see how we can be of assistance.
Customer service is available during normal business hours (Monday-Thursday 9am-4:30pm and Friday 8am-12noon) at 619.258.4600 or [email protected] Padre Dam has temporarily suspended water shut-offs for nonpayment.

Padre Dam Staff are Essential Workers
Did you know that water and wastewater workers are considered essential staff under Governor Newsom's Stay-at-Home Executive Order? This means that Padre Dam staff continue to work daily to provide water and wastewater services to our customers. During this time of uncertainty, you can be sure that crews continue to operate systems, Customer Service Representatives are available, Lab Analysts monitor water quality daily, and Padre Dam staff continue to perform all essential functions as public servants in our community.

We're here for YOU. Today. Tomorrow. And Every Single Day after.  You may see employees working in the field, and we ask that the public help protect our systems and staff by observing social distancing measures.

Protect Your Sewer System

We realize toilet paper is in high demand with limited availability but please  remember - only toilet paper in the toilet. Please do not flush wipes, even if they  are marked "flushable."  It is important t o discard items in the trash, not the toilet.

Flushing wipes, paper towels and similar products down toilets will clog sewers and cause backups and overflows at wastewater treatment facilities, creating an additional public health risk in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Wipes, paper towels, tissues and napkins DO NOT dissolve quickly in water and are likely to cause toilets to back up.

Wastewater treatment facilities around the state already are reporting issues with their sewer management collection systems. Sewer systems were not designed for individual nylon wipes and paper towels.

Sewer spills can lead to our streams, rivers, and oceans where they have broad ranging impacts on public-health and the environment. Preventing sewer spills is important, especially during this COVID-19 emergency, for the protection of public health and the environment.
