This year's Leadership Contra Costasm class met earlier this month for an in-depth, eye-opening session on the environment. The day included guest speakers addressing climate change, plastic crisis, and tours of the Delta Diablo and Mt. Diablo Recycling Facility.

RecycleSmart has contracted with SCS Engineers, Inc. to conduct a survey with the goal of implementing a voluntary
'Edible Food Recovery Pilot Program' for local businesses.
This voluntary program is to help prepare businesses for upcoming regulatory changes brought in by Senate Bill 1383, which will impose food waste reduction requirements on businesses. SCS Engineers and RecycleSmart are looking for leaders in the business community to help get this program off the ground, and are seeking input from any businesses that would like to join in this effort.
