RecycleSmart has contracted with SCS Engineers, Inc. to conduct a survey with the goal of implementing a voluntary
'Edible Food Recovery Pilot Program' for local businesses.
This voluntary program is to help prepare businesses for upcoming regulatory changes brought in by Senate Bill 1383, which will impose food waste reduction requirements on businesses. SCS Engineers and RecycleSmart are looking for leaders in the business community to help get this program off the ground, and are seeking input from any businesses that would like to join in this effort. Applications are being accepted for vacancies on the Design Review Commission; Planning Commission; Board of Appeals and for a Walnut Creek representative on the Central Contra Costa Transit Authority Advisory Committee.
