Starting October 1, school and district administrators will begin to receive a monthly report from our Fiscal Specialist, David Parker.

Mr. Parker has a huge responsibility, tracking the status of all the financials for each and every student registered for the CWU College in the High School Program.

He generates an enrollment report each month, for every school, about all their students who have been enrolled in a CWU CiHS course. This monthly enrollment report needs to be reviewed thoroughly by school or district administration, and possibly the teachers involved.

His report includes information regarding whether the student is listed as receiving the class under the College in the High School OSPI grant (CiHS) or private pay (Cornerstone**). His report includes the headcount, enrollments, credits, and counts per grade. Students are individually listed by grade, ID, course, credits, and months (how long the term is).

The information provided needs to coincide with what the schools report to the state at the end of the year.

Any inaccuracy at year-end may affect your CHS grant reimbursement from the state and the potential administrative reimbursement from CWU.

Please note: If students' registrations have not completed the enrollment process with the Registrar, they will not yet show on the monthly report. This is a timing issue, not necessarily an error. However, we don't mind at all if you check with us about classes that appear to be lagging in the process.

After the review, please let us know if there are any discrepancies. Though rare, we need to know right away if there are any errors in the way any student is enrolled.

Grade level, name spelling, private or grant-paid, etc. changes are easily made early in the term, and difficult to enact when the term is over.

If any changes need to be made in the way a student is enrolled be brought to the attention of your Program Coordinator.

If all the information is accurate, we love receiving a note that says "we checked it, all is good!"

High School ASL teachers are encouraged to apply to be College in the High School instructors. CWU is the first university in Washington to offer a Deaf & Sign Language Major.

Please remind your staff to check their inboxes and make sure that our CWU emails are not misdirected into a junk mail box. While we do appreciate that schools must have top-notch computer security, we discover that our correspondence is going astray at times. This can delay any number of steps in our process.
