The Senate and Assembly will convene on Monday, Dec. 3 to organize their respective houses, elect leadership, adopt house rules and introduce initial bills for the 2019–20 Legislative Session. Governor-elect Gavin Newsom will take office and release his proposed budget the week of Jan. 7.
It's time to submit session proposals for two League conferences, the 2019 Mayors and Council Members Executive Forum in June and the 2019 Annual Conference in October.
The registration deadline is being extended to Dec. 4 for the Fire Chiefs Leadership Seminar, Municipal Finance Institute and City Clerks New Law & Elections Seminar, with on-site registration available after that date.
