Memorable 2018 Kick-off!
Angie Matthiessen, UWCC Executive Director, began the day by sharing in front of a crowd of 200 people that .99 cents of every dollar stays right here in Charlotte County to help those that need it most. We met two people that have been helped through the UWCC funded programs.  We will never forget meeting Trevor and Shy-kia and how their lives are changed by the help they received.

Day of Caring 2018 touched lives all over Charlotte County

Thank you to 106 volunteers that worked with 15 local non-profit agencies on their projects on September 19, 2018. Volunteers did everything from painting, landscaping, stuffing bags, cleaning, sorting, organizing, assembling, building, writing, encouraging, and so much more.  We have already heard so many ways that you changed lives in our community.
You are truly #gamechangers and worked so hard to make a difference!

Kevin Russell P.A. Attorney at Law. Special mention to Fawcett Memorial Hospital for sponsoring the prizes at our Kick-off Celebration!  Congratulations to the winners for entering the drawing to win a Special Edition Fitbit Versa and $100 Gift card for Pomengranate & Fig Gift Boutique in Punta Gorda.

Women United joins Day of Caring!
Women United members volunteered to pass out word magnets to parents during the parent pick-up at Deep Creek Elementary School on 9/19/18.  This is a parent encouragement outreach called Winning Words at local elementary schools.  It is a magnet with a description on the back that tells how to implement the word in their home and with their children.  The encouragement is designed to increase resiliency and unity in families that serves as a protective layer from stress.
