The District is here to give you the mummies wrap about October happenings. It's not going to be a booing time. From Trunk or Treat to Oktober Fest Food Trucks, and a scarecrow contest to a pumpkin patch in the water, this ought to be a hoot! CSD Board Candidate Forum

The League of Woman Voters of EDC and the El Dorado Hills Community Services District is holding a candidate forum for the EDHCSD Board candidates on Monday, October 8 from 7:00 to 8:45 pm in the Norm Rowett Pavilion (1021 Harvard Way). Come prepared with questions and get to know the candidates!

2018 Sustainability Project
 
This past summer, EDHCSD began a sustainability project that provided LED lighting upgrades to 11 of the parks and facilities. This sustain-ability project will continue within the next six weeks and begin construction of 449kW-producing Solar Photovoltaic Shade Parking Structures for the El Dorado Hills Community Park, Solar Thermal at the Community Pool, and 33kW Solar Photovoltaic Shade Structures at Promontory Community Park." Click  here  for the notice.

Four Corners Beautification Project

Thanks to several selfless Blue Shield volunteers, the entrance to the village of Crescent Ridge got a makeover this past Friday, September 21! The volunteers cleared dead wood, weed-whacked, and planted flowers to spice up the intersection of Finders Way and Platt Circle. Thank you Blue Shield for your continued partnership in our community!

Annual Scarecrow Contest

Come one come all! The EDHCSD Annual Scarecrow Contest is on Wednesday, October 17 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the CSD Quad (1021 Harvard Way). Come down and check out all the wild scarecrows, petting zoo, hay pyramid, and pictures on a tractor. There is still time to enter and design your scarecrow! No entry fee and you can let your imagination run wild! Click here for the entry form.

Oktober Fest Food Truck Festival & Beer Garden

Join us on Wednesday, October 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Community Park (1021 Harvard Way) for our last food truck event of the year! Oktober fest will have delicious food, music, cold beer, and our wonderful Scarecrow Contest! All proceeds benefit the EDH Promise Foundation. Click here for more information.

2nd Annual Trunk or Treat

On Friday, October 26 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, trick or treaters go from trunk to trunk at the Community Park (1021 Harvard Way) and safely collect candy from volunteers who have decorated their vehicles in the spirit of Halloween! Other events include Ghoulish Games, Creepy Cake Walk, and a prize for the best-designed trunk! Trunks are still needed for this fun event! If you are interested, please contact Whitney Kahn at

Pumpkin Splash Patch

On Saturday, October 27 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm bring your quest for the perfect Halloween pumpkin to the Pumpkin Splash Patch at the CSD Community Pool. Children 3 - 10 years of age should come wearing their swimsuits for this holiday hunt. Participants will hunt for the perfect pumpkin in the heated pool, decorate it, and take it home to show it off! Also, there will be open swim after! Pre-registration is required, and the fee includes a pumpkin, decoration supplies, swim pass, and a goodie bag. Register here.

El Dorado Board of Supervisors Public Hearing

The County of El Dorado Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing in the Supervisors Meeting Room (330 Fair Lane, Placerville) on Tuesday, October 9 at 1:00 pm. This public hearing is to consider a request by the El Dorado Hills Townhouses Association appealing the Planning Commission's August 23, 2018 approval of Design Review Revision DR-R18-0001/Saratoga Retail Phase 2.
