How to Start your Business

A brief introduction to entrepreneurship and the creation and development of new business ventures. Includes a high level overview of the critical success factors for entrepreneurs, including business structures, the development of the business plan, and permits and licensing procedures.

Writing a Successful Business Plan

Every business, whether it's a new venture or an established enterprise, should have a written business plan outlining the who, what, why and how of their operations.  This workshop will cover the basics of how to write a successful business plan.  Topics will include:
 
  • Purpose of a written business plan
  • Overview of the key components within the plan
  • How to conduct the market research to make your plan stand out
  • Utilizing business plan templates
  • Diving into the financial section of the plan including financial projections and why you need them
 
Instructors:   Lani Lott & Joe Rodola. Lott and Rodola are both seasoned SBDC advisors who will bring their long-term business expertise in teaching this informative workshop.
