Baila! Baila!'s annual holiday show is a whirlwind extravaganza, taking audiences on a journey through the sights and sounds of Christmas in New Mexico. Music, song, and dance with the traditional Southwestern flair that has been cultivated in our state over the generations, as well as unique segments saluting Christmas traditions from around the world, will delight theatre goers of all ages.

Come enjoy a one-day celebration of the small paper bag lanterns with sand and candles that some call "farolitos" and others call "luminarias" with a bike parade, lectures, hands-on art and a poetry slam. Plus, purchase a "Team Luminaria" or "Team Farolito" t-shirt. In partnership with Storyriders (Dolores Gonzales, Valle Vista and Hawthorne Elementary Schools) and Artful Life.

 Nuevomexicana/o Baby Boomers: Stories and Histories

Join us for a presentation by University of New Mexico students and professors Anna Nogar, Department of Spanish and Portuguese, and Myrriah Gómez, Honors College, who are collecting oral histories of Nuevo Mexicana/o Baby Boomers. Students will present video excerpts of their interviews in which New Mexicans born between 1945 and 1966 talk about family, identity, spirituality, history, culture and much more.

Eat Drink Man Woman
, widower Martin Naranjo, the former chef-owner of a gourmet restaurant, shares a Los Angeles home with his three single adult daughters. Though he long ago lost his ability to taste, Martin still lives to cook lavish dinners for his loved ones and serve them in a family-style ritual at traditional sit-down meals. Although the women humor their father's old-fashioned ways, each of them is searching for fulfillment outside the family circle.

Join us for our first annual NHCC Children's Bilingual Book Festival. Coinciding with National Poetry Month, Dia de los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day), Arbor Day, and Semana Cervantina/Poesía eres tu, this festival will celebrate children's books written in Spanish and English and Native languages and English with story time, a reading and Q & A with children's author Pat Mora, workshops for teachers and parents, and much more.
