Job-A-Palooza A Success!

On Thursday, September 13, 2018, Victory Living Programs hosted Job-A-Palooza, a professional development event to help high school students with disabilities prepare for future employment opportunities. Special thanks to Vocational Rehabilitation and the Arc of Florida for their support as well as Broward College/North Regional Library for providing the perfect venue.

In addition, thank you to the 17 companies that all provided real-world job tasks for our 52 participating students and their peer mentors to complete. Each company selected a winning student and peer mentor team, all participants received commemorative gifts for a job well done and all the companies received certificates of appreciation.
See David at the Winterfest Boat Parade!
Thank you to the Winterfest Foundation for including David, a participant in Victory Living's Social/Recreational Program for three years, in their 2018 Junior Captain Contest. David will have the opportunity to ride aboard the Carrie B powered by FP&L Connect in this year's Winterfest Boat Parade.

In addition to participating in the Social/Recreational Program, David also participates in Special Olympics basketball, bowling and in other events and activities. He has also volunteered at fundraising events and his enthusiasm and energy are contagious, bringing a smile to everyone he meets. David has never let his disability of Down Syndrome deter him from the path he chooses to take. With his determination, energy and enthusiasm there is no stopping this young man. Congratulations David and enjoy the Boat Parade!
Sports Update: Bowling, Flag Football & Basketball!
Congratulations to all the athletes who competed in the county bowling competition on September 22 at Sawgrass Lanes, and those who participated in the county flag football competition on September 29 at Nova Southeastern University.

Basketball practice will be starting up in October!
