Sophomore retreat is Tuesday, November 27
. All sophomores need to have their release form turned in before they will be permitted to attend. Students should dress in regular uniform (blazers not necessary). Students should arrive at regular time and are expected at their before-school music classes. Students will be dismissed during 1
st
period and will arrive back at school before dismissal. Please pack a lunch as lunch will not be for sale that day.

Senior Yearbook Photos
Many seniors have already chosen their graduation photo packets. Although it is not necessary to buy your packages yet, please return your senior's choices of photos to be used in the Yearbook - one cap and gown and one drape; as soon as possible.

Counseling & College Services
Social Media
This recent Philadelphia Inquirer article details a study conducted by a
University of Pennsylvania psychologist
regarding Social Media and the effect it has on depression and loneliness in undergraduate students.
College Acceptances:
Any Seniors who have received College acceptance and/or scholarship letters, please bring them to the Counseling Office so that we can make a copy for our records.
Immaculata Instant Decision Day:
Saint Basil Academy is excited to offer an Instant Decision Day with Immaculata University on November 27 from 9-11 AM. All interested SENIOR students should sign up in the Counseling Office for the event.
First Quarter Grades:
If your Senior student has applied to a college/university and they are requesting that first quarter grades be sent in for review, please sign up in the Counseling Department. Our staff will send out the reports to the requested schools.
A/P Testing:
Please send in payments for AP testing. All students enrolled in an AP class MUST take the requisite AP test in May. The cost of each test is $94.00. Payment due date: Jan. 31, 2019. Payments can be made online through the school store or by sending in a check made payable to Saint Basil Academy.

School Day SAT with Essay:
Saint Basil Academy will offer an SAT School day opportunity for all Juniors on April 23, 2019. The cost of the SAT with Essay will be $32.25 (50% off the actual testing price). Families can register online through the SBA website. This is an opportunity for JUNIORS only. Please register for the test by Monday, February 25, 2019.

Mamma Mia auditions will take place on December 4 and December 6. Information packets available on the drama board. Wanted: A FEW GOOD MEN to audition. See Drama Board for singing audition practices. There will be dance practices on November 27 and 29.

Parents' Club
New York City Bus Trip, Friday, December 14:
EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR BUS TRIP: DECEMBER 7.
Our first bus is full! Seats are available on the second bus.
Please consider joining us for a relaxing ride to Bryant Park in New York where you can enjoy the sights, sounds and shopping of the big city. Take in a show at either Radio City Music Hall for the Christmas Spectacular or The Grinch, playing at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. If interested in a show, please call now to book your seats as these may fill up quickly. Anyone is invited to join us so put the word out to friends and family to come out and support Saint Basil Academy.

Join us for a night of great music and dancing with the B STREET BAND on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 7 to 11 PM at Saint Basil Academy. The event is a BYOB. Ticket price is $40.00 which includes dinner from the famous Cescaphe Group and incredible music by the
