Red, White, and Blue Celebrations!
July begins With Bang in Pony Express Territory

 

Fernley

The Fernley 4th of July Celebration begins at 10 am with a parade down Main Street, and then continues with a full day of events at the Out-Of-Town park including: the traditional flag raising, vendor booths, great food, live music, a show and shine car show, horseshoe tournament, lots of FREE kids games, watermelon eating contest, and the annual greased pig contest! The day ends with a beautiful and awe-inspiring fireworks show. More information at Fernley-4th-of-July.com

 


Fallon
In continuing with the traditions of the past, The Churchill County Parks and Recreation Department is proud to team up with the City of Fallon and the Chamber of Commerc e to b ring you the "Picnic  in the Park, 4th of July Celebration." This event includes everything a true 4th of July Celebration should have, including a parade, music, games, activities for all ages and of course, and lots of great food. The parade begins at 10:00 am, and the picnic festivities begin at 10:30 am at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. More information at  ChurchillCounty.org

Austin
At 10:00 am the 4th of July parade begins at the Austin Museum and continues to the Austin Park. At 12:00 noon the Lions Club will be BBQing, and free hot dogs and hamburgers will be available. From 12:00 pm to 4 pm there will be DJ and karaoke at the park presented by Mountain Sounds DJ. Old fashioned games including a sack race and egg toss will be held throughout the afternoon. Eureka
The Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration in Eureka is hosted by the Eureka County Volunteer Fire Department, traditionally, it is a day filled with festivities. A parade  d own Main Street kicks off the celebration, street games follow . . . egg toss, sack & foot race, nail driving contest, etc. a portion of highway  50 is closed through the heart of town. Ely

 

Independence Day is a big event for this little community, and each year it continues to grow. The main street, Highway 50, is closed to traffic at 11 a.m. and the parade begins with American and Nevada state flags displayed by Pony Express horseback riders. There are also plenty of cars in the parade, showcasing years of hard work to restore these wonderful vehicles. Some of the favorite traditions, including the firetrucks, police vehicles, and children's floats will be on hand to delight the parade goers. More information at ElyNevada.net 

 

Nevada Northern Railway
 

Watch the fireworks from the best seat in White Pine County on the Nevada Northern Railway 4th of July Fireworks Express. The train leaves at 6:30 pm power by steam locomotive 93 and runs up to the copper mine near Ruth, Nevada. On the return trip, the Fireworks Express stops opposite the White Pine Golf Course where the fireworks will be shot off. Passengers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, get off the train and watch fireworks display from the Best Seat in White Pine County. After the finale, you ride the train back to the East Ely depot where the Kennecott Reunion party will be in full swing.  Tickets are Adults $32 and Children 4-12 $16, under 4 is free.
