Church-Wide Events
This Sunday is Father's Day! Pastor Brian Coles will be sharing a message called "Receiving the Blessing of the Father."

All men 18+ are invited to pick up a book by John Eldredge called You Have What It Takes: What Every Father Needs to Know . They will be distributed at the East and West entrances of the Sanctuary after each service.
Communion - We will be sharing communion together during the morning services this Sunday. All volunteers serving outside the Sanctuary are welcome to take communion by going to the Staff Work Room in the SLC.

BELONG: The Journey - The focus of BELONG this Sunday is on "Serve." Discover who God created you to be and the gifts and passions that make you unique. Join us at 11:30 a.m. in the Oasis.

Eastgate House of Prayer - Come this Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a Night of Devotional Worship led by Anna Landis and her team. Devotional prayer and worship sets are designed to provide an anointed atmosphere for meditating on Scripture and lingering in God's presence. This week we will continue our focus on the themes and truths found in Psalms 34. Childcare is provided through age 7. All are welcome!
Child Dedication - We encourage parents to dedicate their children to the Lord as modeled for us in the Bible. Our next Child Dedication is set for Sunday, June 30, during both services. Register online or by calling the church office during business hours by next Friday, June 21 .

New Petra Staff Person – Welcome to Caleb Gudgeon as our new, full-time Music Director. He began on June 3. Caleb graduated from the University of Valley Forge in 2017, majoring in Music and Music Performance-Contemporary. His primary instruments are piano and voice. Caleb will co-lead the Worship Department with Crystal Martin. Among other things, he will oversee music/worship in Children’s, Student, and Young Adult Ministries. Caleb and his wife Candace – who is currently interning in Petra’s Counseling Department – live in Morgantown. They have been attending Petra since Christmas Eve, and have joined the church family as members.

We talked to Lee and Darlene Stoltzfus about their favorite part of growing up Amish, their journey out of the Amish community, and the collision of technology and tradition.
Episode 149: A Father's Journey – A Conversation with Dutch Fisher – Hear Dutch share his experience of what it was like growing up under an Amish father who didn't know how to show love; what changed his life; and how it can change your life as well. Marriage Ministry
Couples' Night Out - Married couples, join us at Petra next Saturday, June 22, from 5 to 9 p.m. for a Couples’ Night Out! Come on out for a great time of fun and fellowship as we enjoy a lasagna meal together and play volleyball, archery tag, and cornhole. The cost is $15 per couple. Register at the West Hub this Sunday or online by next Thursday, June 20. Sorry, no childcare is provided.
Senior Adults
Mini Golf Activity - If you're 62+ and would enjoy some fun and fellowship over a game of miniature golf, join us at Water's Edge Mini Golf in Bird-in-Hand next Saturday, June 22, at 5:30 p.m. The golf course is adjacent to Bird-in-Hand Restaurant and Motor Inn. Following the golf game we will enjoy ice cream at the snack area. There's no need to register; just come! Both the golf game and the ice cream are self-pay.
Petra Men
Men's Breakfast - All guys age 13 and up are invited for some great food and fellowship at Yoder's this Saturday at 7 a.m. Chris Buck will be sharing his story. Chris is a teacher at Cocalico High School and very active politically . He plays drums with the Petra Worship Team and is famous for his part in the Sunday morning video announcements. He is married to Emily and a father to four children.
Student Ministries
Registration is now open for The Rally All Night , an amazing event for high school and middle school students in our region! It’s November 15-16 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Not only do we have a great line-up of artists, including Hollyn, but we’re excited to offer an inspiring time together filled with games, prizes, entertainment, worship, and God’s Word! Be one of the first 100 to register to receive a chance at one of five back-stage experiences!
Register also for EDGE 56 and EDGE 78’s trip to Go ‘N Bananas Family Fun Center in Lancaster. It’s Monday, June 24, with drop-off at Petra at 5 p.m. and pick-up from Petra at 9. Come for laser tag, a spin zone, mini bowling, arcade games, and more! There are two ticket options: a Safari Pass for $15 or a Nano Pass (with a ropes course) for $20. A light snack will be provided. Register online by next Thursday!
Kingdom Kids
VBS is flying by and we are having a “Roaring” good time! With over 350 kids each night, the church is alive with the worship and laughter of our amazing kids.

Not only are they learning about the Goodness of God, they are learning about generosity. As of last night, they have already raised $3,500 for Cure International. That is a VBS record! What generous and giving families we have here at Petra and in our community!

We also have over 100 crew leaders and helpers here every night pouring into each and every child. What an amazing week!
 
We can always use help cleaning up Friday night, if you would like to join us. Please be here around 8:30.
Eastern Lancaster County Power (Sports) Camp - This camp, hosted at Petra by Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is for young athletes ages 8 to 12 who want to develop their skill in sports. It begins this Monday and continues through Thursday. The times are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The camp involves the local community with high school students and coaches leading the athletes. The cost is $150; some scholarships are available. For more info, contact Diana Roth at droth@fca.org . Tomorrow is the final day to register online.
Local Outreach
Save the Date - On Thursday, July 4, we will be opening our parking lot and fields to the community to watch the New Holland Fireworks. Beverages and chips will be provided free; you'll be able to purchase hot dogs and nachos with cheese. Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - JC and Lois Ebersole serve as Petra missionaries, with JC overseeing the Africa Association of Bible Schools (AABS) in Africa. Pray for wisdom for JC as he gives direction to the ministry of AABS from a distance and oversees the African staff members who are serving onsite. Pray also for God’s provision as they serve.

Stromboli Fundraiser Meal - Enjoy stromboli, watermelon, dessert, and more on Sunday, June 23, at 12:30 p.m. Proceeds will go toward EDGE 78's K-team mission trip, where they will be partnering with Eastern Mennonite Missions to work with refugee youth and families. Take-outs will be available at 10:30 a.m.

Chicken Barbecue Fundraiser Meal - Come on out for some delicious chicken barbecue on Sunday, June 30, at 12:30 p.m. Take-outs will be available at 10:30 a.m. The funds will go directly toward the living expenses of Arlen and Keturah King, who serve with Missionary Ventures in Orlando and around the world. Take-outs will be available at 10:30 a.m.
2019 Race Across America – A team of eight bicycle riders, including five from Petra, will begin one of the world’s toughest races this Saturday on behalf of ZOE International. The team is setting out with many other teams on a non-stop, 3,000-mile transcontinental relay race from the Pacific to the Atlantic. ZOE international is a non-profit organization with a passion to rescue every child and person victimized by human trafficking. The motto of the ZOE team is “Their Freedom is Our Fuel.” Please pray for the riders and support team this week and consider giving toward one or more riders. So far the team has raised $102,426 of its $150,000 goal. Visit ZOE's webpage for live streaming and daily recaps of the event.
