"Abandonment is such a hard thing to deal with.
Why did they leave? Why do they cut me off? Why did they not love me?
Was I that bad?
Did I disappoint them that much? Then you find yourself abandoning the people you love and should take responsibility for.
Now you hate yourself and don't let anyone close to you.
First, I
have to
tell you that I love you and I think you are incredible. Second, I want you to know I will help you.
Third, I want you to know that I will never leave you or abandon you. I will never forsake you. I will heal you.
Let's talk" - Jesus
I read this word from the Lord recently and could identify with much of it as many of us can.
One morning I was struggling with how to deal with some issues and individuals that had hurt me.
The Lord clearly spoke to me "You just
love,
and I will take care of them."
He reminded me of what He has commanded us to do in Matthew 22:36-40 (AMP). "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"
And Jesus replied to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your
mind.
' This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].'The whole Law and the [writings of the] Prophets depend on these two commandments."
When we LOVE the rest will fall into place!
Then He revealed something amazing!
Matthew 6:24(AMP) "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord]." In the translation of some of these words came the amazing revelation!
The "master" is someone who "
possess
or owns" you.
To "serve" them or serve it is to be "a slave or in bondage to".
If anyone or thing has our attention more than the
Lord,
we have put
our self
under their control!
When Love rules we give our attention to the one who is LOVE and He rules.
The bottom line is a trust factor.
Do we really trust that He is greater and can take care of people and the things that concern us?
Are we willing to do what He has commanded us to do?
"Love" used in this passage can be also translated "to
welcome"
.
What
are we welcoming that will control our lives?
What thoughts are made welcome to control our thinking and our feelings?
Phil 4:8 (AMP) "Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your
mind
on them, and implant them in your heart]." Now that's the best holiday gift!
Receive it!
