SGP continues growth in Q1
In the first quarter of 2021, momentum continued for SGP. “During Q1, SGP continued to demonstrate its leadership in building a more sustainable future for the printing industry with growth in the SGP Community including certified facilities, patrons, resource partners and brands,” said Doreen Monteleone, SGP co-founder, treasure and FTA representative. “We are proud that all links in the print supply chain are focusing on the benefits of sustainability and participating in our program.”


Winners of the Earth Day Design Competition for
Ryerson University Students Announced
First place: Catherine Kai Lin Cha
The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) & Green2Sustainable announced Catherine Kai Lin Cha, Sara Ferrara & Sanyukta Ghag as winners of the Earth Day-themed design competition for students at Ryerson University. The winning design will be featured in the SGP Impact Tracker, the cloud-based system that gives SGP certified facilities a single, secure web platform to manage certifications from start to finish and ensure continued progress as they seek to further reduce waste and improve efficiency.

The Printing Industry of the Carolinas joins SGP as Resource Partner
SGP announced the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) joined the SGP community as a Resource Partner. “PICA and SGP share a commitment to a more sustainable future,” said Jeff Stoudt, president, PICA. “As a Resource Partner, we align our resources in achieving a more sustainable supply chain.” Read more

SGP announced a pilot project to expand its certification program beyond the United States and Canada. SGP has been successfully holding all audits virtually for more than a year. Using this method, the organization can expand internationally, allowing printers and industry suppliers worldwide to achieve SGP certification. Through its cloud-based SGP Impact Tracker, information for a virtual audit is quickly and effectively shared with SGP's independent auditors. Read more

The SGP Sustainability Champion is awarded quarterly to recognize an SGP Community Member for outstanding efforts in making the environment a better place to work and live in. An SGP Sustainability Champion is a person that leads by example and shows passion through leadership, activities, environmental stewardship and activism. For this quarter, nominations must be received by May 31, 2021. The SGP Champion Program Committee will announce the winner June 15, 2021. Learn more
